In recent years, transesophageal echocardiography has become one of the most exciting imaging modalities available in modern clinical cardiology. Multiplane transesophageal echocardiography is the result of the evolution of echocardiography from single plane and biplane transducers over the past decade.
Atlas of Multiplane Transesophageal Echocardiography provides cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and cardiac surgeons with a comprehensive analysis of cardiac imaging from the authors' experience of having performed over 15,000 transesophageal echocardiograms.
Using a consistent format throughout, each chapter commences with normal cardiac structure and function followed by abnormalities. Martin G St John Sutton, MB, BS, FRCP is the John Bryfogle Professor of Cardiovascular Diseases and Director of the Cardiovascular Imaging Program at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia, USA.

Alan R Maniet, DO, FAAIM is at the Echocardiography Laboratory, St Louis University Medical Center, Cardiology Division and Associate Professor of Medicine, Saint Louis University, USA. He was previously Director of International Echocardiography, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, USA.
